About Me

Welcome to the “The Organized Youth Worker!”: A Blog about Productivity, not just for youth workers, but anyone who wants to be more organized!

Hi everyone! You can call me “Christy.”  I started this blog for various reasons. I am a youth worker that wants to earn more support for my ministry, while at the same time I want to help others too to become better organized, especially my fellow millennials and youth ministers.

I confess that I am still learning myself, however, in my search I discovered various ways to become much more organized. From managing my time better, to managing finances, to managing my health. In a society that loves instant gratification such as binge watching and online shopping, it can be very hard to use our lives in a productive manner all the time. But it is possible!

As I mentioned before, I am a youth worker. I work at a church and minister to teens. There are constantly daily sudden tasks that need to be managed while also carrying the responsibility of bringing teens to Christ. It is a work with a heavy load on so many levels, yet I want to help other youth workers through providing practical ways on how to make everything just a little more light.

As I shared before, I am still working on this. I think often, How can I do it? It is so hard. How can I do all these tasks!…and then suddenly another comes my way!

First of all, it can only be done through Christ! I can testify that through my hardest seasons, it was only through relying on Christ that I was able to endure. He gave me hope, opened ways, and gave me wisdom in situations I thought were impossible.

As I struggled a lot in managing my time and making my day more productive, I began to ask Him more how could it be done. I started researching about different productivity methods as I just felt too overwhelmed with all the work that was needed to be done and I felt like nothing was being truly accomplished daily. I was starting many things, but not fully finishing them.

Through my research, I came to realize I am not the only one that feels this way and that there are many ways to overcome this “what did I do all day?” thought. I started to apply these different methods of planning, budgeting, resting (will share more in future posts) and my life started to become much more organized and productive. Before, I was working late nights and barely had a lot of sleep, yet I still felt I did not accomplish all that I wanted. These different methods completely changed that. I could find out what I was doing wrong and apply them to better my ministry and my personal relationship with the Lord.

Of course, it is only through Christ. I believe He was answering my prayers through these different methods that have helped me so much. Now I want to share with my fellow youth ministers and millenials who want to better their time, their work, their productivity.

Just to share about the blog title…

“The Organized Youth Worker” may appear to many to be an oxymoron. The youth pastor can appear to be all over the place putting together details last minute, after all we are dealing with teens who can be very unpredictable. But that doesn’t mean we have to be unorganized ourselves. In fact, if we are more organized, it will help run the youth ministry so much more smoothly.

Again, I am the first to confess I still need to learn, but I want to share that it is possible and through this blog, invite you into my journey into becoming much more productive. I want to reveal the results of what happens when we do commit to being more organized.  Remember…this will ALSO help you be an even better minster to youth (our future world changers!). It is really possible!

This is just a brief introduction..more tips, more confessions, more stories are to come! If you are a youth worker, a twenty something, or just want to learn how to become more productive, be sure to follow here!
